DURATION: 1 hour

California is paving the way toward a clean-energy, decarbonized future — setting an ambitious goal of 100% renewable electricity by 2045, which relies heavily on solar, wind and battery storage. Ensuring affordable and reliable power; however, presents major hurdles in meeting this target.

As part of the California Energy Storage Alliance’s Virtual Event, this webinar will explore the “Optimal Path” forward for the state, where it can meet its renewable portfolio standard (RPS) target five years ahead of schedule, saving ratepayers billions of dollars in the process. Based on results from a recent study, “Path to 100% Renewables for California,” this new path provides a reliable, affordable and environmentally friendly way to decarbonize electricity generation by leveraging fast-starting, flexible generation plants that can burn gas now, and use synthetic renewable fuels from power-to-hydrogen and power-to-methane processes as those technologies advance.
